Day 3

Today we got up around 10, we got ready and eventually headed out to get the Metro to Pere Lachaise. We got there and bought our maps and then we headed in to find the graves! We went to Jim Morrison first, it was a bit annoying because it was fenced in so it was hard to get a good photo of it. After that we went to find Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde and Chopin, we saw some from the Holocaust too, that was a bit sad.

This girl seems to just sit by Oscar Wildes grave reading…

After Pere Lachaise we came home for some lunch, we had some lovely rolls, I had goats cheese, tomato and lettuce 🙂
We had a bit of a rest and then headed out again to Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. We got the Metro there and we started walking to find the café from Amelie, didn’t plan it very well though…we got lost, well not exactly lost, we ended up at Place du Tertre so we had a quick wander around there, then we went to Sacre Coeur and took a few pictures of that before getting the Funicular back down to try and find the café again, we found it this time and took a few photos.

After that we started walking and we came upon the Moulin Rouge just by chance, so we took a few photos of that and tried to find something to eat, I was feeling really sick and weak at this stage :/ We walked around for a bit and then had to go into McDonalds because I really needed something sugary, my blood sugar was way low!So after a coke and a bit of muffin we got the metro at Pigalle and headed back to the apartment, I was feeling a bit better but I was still a bit shaky and tired.

When we got back to the apartment dad and Shane kindly went exploring for somewhere to get dinner, they found a lovely Indian restaurant and they brought us a takeaway, it was amazing. We got some potato pakora and I got dahl palak with rice, it was just lovely.

We’re just sitting around relaxing now and trying to plan our day tomorrow, it’s looking like we’re going to the flea market and possibly the Musée D’Orsay. We’re not sure who is going to go but sure it will all work out in the morning. I’m going to go and watch a film with Jess now before bed. 🙂
